Somewhere along the way, I feel many of us have lost touch with what it truly means to be healthy...
Over the past decade, I’ve watched this ever-changing industry become increasingly divisive, especially when it comes to nutrition. The rise of social media has allowed unqualified individuals to promote restrictive and often dangerous methods of 'optimising' health, leaving us feeling more confused than ever.
Navigating these murky waters myself as a teenager was difficult, as the messages around 'health' online were telling me to cut out the foods I loved, and to feel guilty if I didn't burn more calories than I consumed. This ultimately led to digestive issues, poor mental health, and a disordered relationship with food.
Having been fortunate enough to receive the incredible support that I needed to work through these challenges, my desire to prevent others from having similar experiences fuelled the fire that inspired me to train as a Registered Nutritionist and Nutritional Therapist, ultimately founding Lottie V Nutrition and now supporting clients all around the world.
Six years, two degrees, and a wide variety of client success stories later, I’ve seen first-hand how transformative it can be to feel informed and empowered in nourishing both mind and body by using an abundant, joy-led, holistic approach.
The greatest lesson I’ve learned? It really does not have to be so complicated, time consuming, or costly. In reality, we need to bring it back to basics, reconnect with our bodies and redefine what being healthy truly means for us.
